Kirk Brewster serves as the crop protection subject matter expert for the Open Innovation team and is a Technology Acquisition & Alliance Manager for Corteva Agriscience, Indianapolis, IN. As a trained medicinal organic chemist, with B.S. and M.S. degrees in Chemistry from Clarkson University; Ph.D. degree in Medicinal Chemistry from Purdue University; and a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Eli Lilly & Co., Kirk brings science and product development knowledge and business acumen to the Open Innovation team.
Kirk began his professional career as a Discovery Chemist, and over the span of 18 years, he developed early and late stage chemistries in the weed management, disease management and insect management areas. He then moved to an Intellectual Property Portfolio Development Manager role, leading teams in IP strategy development and deployment. In 2013, he assumed his current role of global technology scouting and collaboration management, in alignment with Corteva’s goal to “Bring the outside in”. The goal is access to enabling technologies for both R&D and the business product portfolios, mainly for the Crop Protection Platform.
